Directions

Directions from San Francisco Bay area: (200 miles)

• Take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento
• Approaching Sacramento, just after a long straight causeway over agricultural land, you will need to exit right to Reno, in order to stay on I-80 East without going through downtown Sacramento
• Continue on Interstate 80 East over Donner Summit (approx. 100 miles)
• After you pass Donner Lake take the Hwy 89 South to Squaw Valley exit
• Turn right on the exit. You are now on Hwy 89 South heading to North Lake Tahoe / Tahoe City, CA
• You are now on Hwy 89 South (See instructions from Hwy 89)

Directions from Reno: (50 miles)

• Exit the Airport following signs to Hwy 395 North
• Stay to the right and follow the freeway exit signs to Reno / Sacramento I-80 West
• You will be on Interstate 80 West heading toward the mountains, with downtown Reno on your left
• Drive to Truckee (Approx. 40 miles)
• Take the Hwy 89 South – Squaw Valley / North Lake Tahoe exit
• Turn left after you exit
• You are now on Hwy 89 South heading to Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City, CA (See Instructions from Hwy 89)

Directions from Hwy 89 South: (13 miles)

• Drive south on Hwy 89 past the stop-light at the entrance to Squaw Valley USA (approx. 10 miles)
• Next intersection is the road to Alpine Meadows Ski Area, turn right and drive uphill approx. 3 miles
• At the top, the road will widen at the beginning of the ski area parking lot. On the left is Chalet Road
• Turn left
• The Stanford Alpine Chalet is the first building on the left side of the road. Enter the parking lot at the second entrance on the left side
• Welcome to the Chalet!
